Driving While Intoxicated Charge Reduced to Lesser Offense

Our client Nancy was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) in Tarrant County.  She successfully avoided providing breath or blood evidence and did not make any overly incriminating statements to the arresting officer.  Importantly, she maintained a polite and calm demeanor throughout her ordeal.

In our negotiations with the assistant district attorney assigned to the case we highlighted the lack of strong evidence against our client.  We maintained that a jury would likely be hesitant to find guilt of intoxication beyond a reasonable doubt.  Ultimately the State’s attorney agreed to dismiss the Driving While Intoxicated case and offer the lesser change of Obstruction of a Roadway.
