Drug LitigationDid the Manufacturer of Actos Warn the Medical Community?

April 1, 2012

According to a number of health experts and consumer advocates, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, the maker of Actos (pioglitazone), failed to appropriately warn doctors or patients about the health risks of this commonly prescribed type 2 diabetes drug.

Recently, a safety consultant who worked for Takeda alleged that the major pharmaceutical manufacturer knew about the drug’s connection to more than a dozen types of cancer but declined to recognize it or warn the health care community. In fact, according to the consultant’s report, Takeda only made sure that 7 out of 10 bladder cancer events were reported to the FDA.

If your loved one has experienced an adverse event as a result of his or her prolonged exposure to Actos, you should talk to the attorneys at Nachawati Law Group. With years of experience and dedicated expertise, we know how to help. We’re ready to fight for you!
