Drug LitigationThe FDA, Zoloft, and Your Family

October 12, 2012

For several years, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned against the possibly harmful effects of prenatal Zoloft (sertraline) exposure on an in utero fetus. While the good news is that more specific product labeling now warns medical professionals and consumers that SSRI antidepressants like Zoloft may potentially cause serious birth defects, that’s not always been the case.

As a result of insufficient research and labeling, a tragically large number of patients took Zoloft – and exposed their children to harm – without an adequate understanding of what might happen. For some, this lack of knowledge may constitute a legal wrong the harms of which may be redressed through the law.

Are you concerned that your child’s birth defects may be related to his or her pre-natal exposure to Zoloft? Find out if legal remedies are available to you by talking to the dedicated professionals at Nachawati Law Group today. We’re ready to help you!
