The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cautioned Paxil (paroxetine) patients that their antidepressant may elevate the risk of birth defects for their developing child – and, in particular, heart defects – when consumed during pregnancy. In fact, the results from published health studies suggest that when ingested during the first three months of pregnancy, Paxil elevates the probability of harmful outcomes by as much as 200 percent.
