Fears | Nachawati Case to be Reviewed by Supreme Court

Fears | Nachawati Law Firm is proud to report that The Texas Supreme Court has agreed to review a civil case where our client was the victim of a workplace sexual assault – B.C. v. Steak N Shake.  Fears Nachawati Partner, Matthew McCarley, is trial counsel and worked with appellate counsel, Matt Kita, in the fight to ensure our client received Justice.  The Dallas Court of Appeals originally held that victims of workplace violence and assaults were limited to the same remedies as victims of workplace harassment—and our firm respectfully disagreed and appealed to the highest court in Texas.  The Texas Supreme Court accepts less than 5% of cases filed annually for review, and we are proud that the Court agreed to review our case.  We congratulate Matthew McCarley and Matt Kita for successfully serving as trial and appellate counsel on the case, and taking the fight to the highest court in Texas. This is a step in the right direction and a win in the fight for sexual assault victims’ rights.  We are proud to be a part of this decision.
