AndroGel is a testosterone gel used to treat adult males who are testosterone deficient. Testosterone is a hormone which is naturally made by the human body. In fact, this hormone is responsible for many of the sexual characteristics of males such as growth of male sex organs and the prostate, development and distribution of male hair such as facial hair, and the sex drive and sexual function. Many males experience what is known as hypogonadism, a condition of low Testosterone. AndroGel, a controlled substance only available by prescription, is prescribed to men across the world for the little to no testosterone they experience. The gel is applied to the skin and absorbed.
