I have been arrested since becoming a permanent resident. Can I still become a U.S. citizen?

One of the requirements for naturalization is good moral character. An applicant for naturalization must show that he or she has been, and continues to be, a person of good moral character. Generally, the applicant must show good moral character during the five-year period immediately preceding the application for naturalization and up to the time of the Oath of Allegiance. Your immigration attorney will need to review documentation relating to all prior criminal history you may have in order to advise you of any potential problems.
