Gale Pearson Writes for Waco Tribune-Herald on the High Cost of Chemical Disasters

A petrochemical plant located in Port Neches, Texas, and owned by TPC Group exploded on November 27. This tragedy occurred just one week after the EPA rolled back chemical safety regulations drafted in the wake of the West, Texas, explosion that occurred in 2013. Attorney Gale Pearson recently wrote an op-ed for the Waco Tribune-Herald about the responsibility owners of these plants have to their employees, the communities in which they’re located, and to the first responders who are called when disaster strikes.

“Commonsense protective regulations do not overburden the chemical industry. Rather, such regulations were put in place after a tragic reminder of our vulnerability.”
